Inauguration Ceremony of the New Kurbads Car Carrier #118
The car transportation and logistics company Kurbads, honoring the artistic legacy of Ilmārs Blumbergs, has dedicated its newest fleet carrier to his memory, continuing the tradition of highlighting Latvia's most important cultural figures.
Ilmārs Blumbergs (1943–2016) was one of Latvia's most prominent artists, scenographers, and graphic designers. He significantly contributed to the development of Latvian art and theater. His remarkable career was closely tied to the Dailes Theatre and the Latvian National Opera, where he created scenographies beyond conventional performances, delivering unforgettable and symbolically rich visual solutions.
Artist Alfreds Paulausks, who designed the car carrier, crafted a visual element and a deeply emotional message. The vehicle is adorned with Blumbergs' portrait, symbolizing his creativity and spiritual strength. Two symbolic inscriptions stand out on the cabin - "I Will Not Die" and "I Believe" - expressing Blumbergs' belief in the power of art to transcend the boundaries of time and space, immortalizing creative ideas for eternity. This symbolic connection continues Blumbergs' conviction that art can emerge and thrive not only in galleries but also within the context of everyday life.
At the end of September, Kurbads expanded its fleet with a new car transporter, the Mercedes-Benz Actros 1848 L Trend Line, numbered #118. The vehicle has been entrusted to Andris Freibergs from Talsi, an experienced driver who has been with the company for seven years. This powerful and environmentally friendly long-distance truck, boasting 480 horsepower and a Euro 6 engine, stands out with its spacious cabin, premium comfort, and up to 3% fuel efficiency, making it an excellent choice for sustainable transportation.
The inauguration ceremony was led by folklorist Inese Krūmiņa, creating an emotional link between art and ancestral traditions. The ceremony was also attended by the artist's son, Ilmārs Blumbergs, his family, and Kurbads employees, friends, and business partners. This event was a tribute to Ilmārs Blumbergs' legacy and the cultural values of Latvia, which Kurbads proudly continues to carry forward into the world. Special thanks to the teams from Dailes Theatre and BMW Latvia - your support made this day unique and unforgettable!
