Kurbads has celebrated another significant milestone, the inauguration of its 120th car carrier, named "Namejs." This name isn't new to the company's fleet; in 2019, the image of Namejs first appeared on the 100th car carrier's cabin. Continuing this tradition, the new "Namejs" has been entrusted to the experienced duo of Renārs and Sigita Jakobsons.
Kurbads Welcomes 120th Car Carrier "Namejs"

Renārs, a champion driver at Kurbads, is receiving his fourth car carrier. All his previous three vehicles have surpassed the one million kilometer mark, showcasing his expertise and dedication. He began driving with his spouse, Sigita, in 2015 with car carrier T71. Now, they are experiencing their second joint christening—a special event for the company and the drivers.
The story of "Namejs" continues to evolve. In October 2024, the #100 car carrier reached the remarkable milestone of 1,000,000 kilometers, demonstrating the vehicle's durability and the professionalism of Renārs and Sigita. They emphasize that the role of a driver-expeditor requires skill, a high level of responsibility, planning abilities, and constant attention.
Namejs was a 13th-century leader who valiantly defended his people against foreign invaders. Today, Namejs symbolizes Latvian resilience and the quest for freedom. The legendary Namejs ring, characterized by its distinctive braided design, represents Latvian strength and unity.
The new car carrier's cabin, designed by artist Alfreds Paulausks, embodies the essence of Namejs' strength and Latvia's rich heritage.
Anatolijs Vasiļjevs, a Kurbads legend and mentor to drivers who piloted the company's first car carrier, comments on Renārs and Sigita Jakobsons: "Renārs and Sigita Jakobsons are the ideal dynamic duo, our only double crew. They understand each other very well as a married couple and work colleagues."
The latest "Namejs" is a Mercedes-Benz Actros 1848 L Trend Line, which combines advanced technology with power. It features a robust 480-horsepower engine and enhanced aerodynamics, which reduces fuel consumption and emissions and promotes environmentally friendly operations.
May "Namejs" journey safely, carrying Latvian values across European roads!
