Kurbads Supports the Iron Man Monument with a Special T-Shirt Collection

To honor one of the greatest Latvian hockey players of all time, Kārlis Skrastiņš, the company Kurbads, in collaboration with artist Alfreds Paulausks, has created a special T-shirt collection titled “Legend of Hockey.” For every shirt sold, €10 will be donated to the Kārlis Skrastiņš Foundation to support the creation of the Iron Man monument in Riga. This initiative offers everyone a chance to get involved and become part of a story that celebrates a true legend.
The T-shirt collection is available both online at the KurbadsLV Etsy store (https://tinyurl.com/IronmanLV) and in person at Kurbads Ice Hall, Lidlauka iela 37, Riga.
Special thanks to the clothing and printing company Ervitex SIA for their enthusiasm and support in bringing this unique T-shirt design to life!
Kārlis Skrastiņš is one of the most outstanding Latvian hockey players ever. He served as the national team captain for many years and was widely known in the NHL by his nickname “Ironman.” He was a defenseman with a strong character, strict discipline, and unwavering principles. Born on July 9, 1974, in Riga, he tragically passed away on September 7, 2011, in Yaroslavl.
During his career, Skrastiņš played 832 games in the National Hockey League for the Nashville Predators, Colorado Avalanche, Florida Panthers, and Dallas Stars. Representing Latvia, he participated in three Olympic Games and nine World Championships, playing 151 games for the national team. He was one of the team's most reliable pillars and a true leader.
We encourage everyone to join the initiative — whether by purchasing a T-shirt or donating to the foundation, every contribution helps build this upcoming memorial site, which will become a symbol of pride for Latvian hockey.
