Kurbads Annual Ball 2024 - A Celebration of Unity and Inspiration
On December 27, the Kurbads Ice Hall hosted the most anticipated event of the year—the Kurbads Annual Ball, bringing together more than 200 employees with their families and children. The event’s diverse program created a genuine festive and communal atmosphere. Guests enjoyed ice skating and an Ice Disco accompanied by the music of the Coco Orchestra. At the same time, children engaged in creative and educational activities such as making Christmas decorations, decorating gingerbread cookies, and participating in fun games with the elves.
A particularly emotional highlight was the first-ever presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award, which was received by the legendary Kurbads driver Anatolijs Vasiļjevs. This award symbolizes the company’s respect and gratitude and is set to become a cherished tradition.
As is tradition, the best employees from various divisions of Kurbads, as well as teams from the Kurbads Ice Hall, Kurbads Hockey School, and Lantes Manor, were presented with Annual Awards. The 2024 Kurbads Best Employee award went to accountant Jūlija Balaša, the Best Driver award to Oļegs Dovgans, and the Best New Driver award to Ralfs Zukulis. A unique video story was created for each of the eight awardees, showcasing their achievements from a fresh perspective. These stories can be viewed on the Kurbads TV YouTube channel.

Each awardee received a symbolic prize—a Kurbads figure statue created by artist Oskars Mikāns - and the opportunity to express their gratitude to their loved ones and colleagues who support them daily in achieving their goals.
Kurbads CEO Andis Pikāns highlighted that the past year was full of challenges, but they also served as valuable learning experiences that strengthened the company and its team. He emphasized that challenges provide an opportunity to reassess priorities and adapt to life’s changes. The company’s core values and experience will enable continued progress without losing focus on goals, paving the way to success.
This event offered a chance not only to reflect on the achievements of the past year but also to appreciate the contributions of colleagues and find inspiration for future goals. It underscored the company’s core values – family, collaboration, and faith in one’s abilities. The company's eagerly awaited 30th anniversary celebration, set for August 2025, promises to be another significant milestone in its growth journey.
